Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha proved to be a real gamechanger for the franchise when they were in a crunch situation in a bid to secure the playoffs spot in the ongoing 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.

At one stage in IPL 2020, the Sunrisers Hyderabad were lurking at the seventh spot with three wins and six losses, but now they are among the top four of the IPL 2020, and Saha played a significant role in SRH’s revival in the ongoing T20 league in the UAE.

Jason Holder’s inclusion and captain Warner’s brave decision to replace Jonny Bairstow with Saha was a masterstroke for the SRH as they haven’t only bloomed but also Aussie star returned to his aggressive best with the bat in the IPL 2020 – which eventually completely overturned their fortunes.

In the ongoing IPL 2020 in the UAE, Saha has been one of the best strikers of the ball in the powerplay and has fearlessly hammered the crucial knocks of 87 off 45, 39 off 32, and 58* off 45 in the last three innings which made SRH enable to qualify for the IPL 13 playoffs.

Ahead of SRH vs RCB game, Saha has credited his Hyderabad captain Warner and the team management for his fearless display in the IPL 2020, saying they gave him the license to play his shots.

Saha told Sports Today, “Warner and the team encourage me to go for my shots and play the way I feel confident playing. So, in that sense, I have been given the license to play my own way.”

On his crucial partnerships with Warner, Saha said: “David has dominated world cricket for several years and he has managed to do the same at the IPL. His knowledge of the game is incredibly vast.”

He signed off by saying, “In our team meetings, he is the one who tells us how a bowler can be tackled, his knowledge and experience is so vast. When I go to open the batting and if David Warner is at the other end, it obviously takes the pressure off me, as I know that the runs will come.”
