IPL 2020: Match 56, SRH v MI - Statistical Preview of the Match

SUNRISERS HYDERABAD (SRH)

Sunrisers Hyderabad has everything on the line here. A very good NRR enables them to not think of winning the game with any attached necessities, but they need to just beat MI and a spot in playoffs will be theirs.

Warner and Saha have given them very good starts in the powerplay and with the game taking place in a small ground like Sharjah, expect the two batsmen to go berserk in the first six overs. Manish Pandey and Kane Williamson have guided the young Abhishek Sharma, Priyam Garg, and Abdul Samad well.

Warner and Saha have gelled well at the top for SRH | BCCI/IPLHowever, one big addition has been Jason Holder and his big-hitting abilities have provided much comfort down the order to the SRH think tank. His medium-pace bowling with brains has given other bowlers a lot more room for improvising.

Rashid Khan has been SRH’s biggest asset with the ball and SRH will depend on him to neutralize the big hitters in MI camp. T Natarajan and Sandeep Sharma have done excellently well with the new and old ball in different phases of the match as well.

Though SRH might think of bringing in Khaleel Ahmed for Shahbaz Nadeem, given the three left-handers in the MI team and the fact that the match is happening in Sharjah, which has very short boundaries.

MUMBAI INDIANS (MI)

MI is in a position to experiment a bit with their playing XI. Rohit Sharma may still not play in this match, given that there is an important match in the Qualifier 1 coming up in a couple of days. De Kock and Ishan Kishan have given the MI team excellent starts, with Suryakumar and Tiwary providing the much needed backup support.

MI might bring in Hardik Pandya for Jayant Yadav, given the Sharjah ground’s dimensions. Pollard and Krunal might continue giving Hardik company in the big-hitting department. Rahul Chahar is expected to do his good work in the spin department along with Krunal.

Hardik Pandya can wreck havoc in Sharjah | BCCI/IPLOne place where MI might change things up can be the fast bowling department. They can give rest to both Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah to keep them fresh against Delhi Capitals for the November 5 tie. In their place, James Pattinson and Dhawal Kulkarni might come in to partner Nathan Coulter-Nile in the pace department.
