Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni has confirmed he won't be quitting IPL and will come back next year. Ahead of the match against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), Dhoni said "definitely not" when asked if this is his last game in yellow.
CSK batsman and former South Africa captain, Faf du Plessis backed Dhoni's decision to continue and said the 39-year-old is fit enough to play the tournament.

Du Plessis added that the tournament needs Dhoni and fans would love to see him playing. "When you think CSK you think of MS Dhoni and also because IPL needs MS Dhoni to play, the fans love him so much so why not. He still feels motivated and to pitch up every day and come and do... being a big player comes with a lot of expectation and a lot of pressure," Du Plessis told teammate Lungi Ngidi after the match.
"That answer told you he is very much motivated to come back stronger next year. There have been a few rumors floating around I have seen of him possibly retiring. So that answer was possibly a hell no straightaway," he added.
Du Plessis, the highest run-getter for CSK this season, scored 48 runs against KXIP, while his opening partner Ruturaj Gaikwad added 62* runs. Gaikwad was picked as the Man of the Match after CSK's nine wickets win on Sunday.
