Ruturaj Gaikwad is one of the finds of the ongoing IPL 2020 and everyone is just in awe of this young talented batsman for his brilliant performance for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the UAE.

He didn’t get many opportunities in the IPL 2020 after he tested positive for COVID-19 before the tournament began, but the Maharashtra sensation showed his potential with the bat even in the limited opportunities given at the end of the CSK’s season in the UAE.

The 23-year-old, who has been a consistent performer for Maharashtra, scored 204 runs in 6 games for CSK apart from showing his brilliance while fielding in the IPL 13.

On Sunday during CSK’s final IPL 2020 game against KXIP, Gaikwad has yet again shown his brilliance with the bat and played a Plyer of the Match knock of unbeaten 62 off 49 and became the 1st uncapped Indian to score three consecutive half-centuries in the IPL history.

Gaikwad’s CSK teammate and South African batsman Faf du Plessis was left impressed by his talent as the veteran went on to compare the latter with one of the world’s best batsmen, Virat Kohli.

After his (48) and Ruturaj guided CSK to nine wickets win over CSK at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, Du Plessis has heaped praise on Gaikwad and hailed the youngster's composure while saying the latter looks like a younger version of Kohli in the array of shots he possesses.

Du Plessis told Star Sports at the post-match presentation, “Gaikwad Looks like a young Kohli doesn't he? What stands out for me the most is that he stands up to pressure, his composure.”

He further added on his CSK teammate, “Pressure situations don’t really get to him. That's the quality you look for in young players to see if they get to the next level. That is always pleasing to see in a young guy and looks like he has a bright future.”

On his cricketing future, Du Plessis said: “I've told you this the other day - red wine is the term I use. I'm still loving it. I've got a lot of cricket left in me, at least five more years.”

Noteworthy, CSK is now out of the league having finished in the 7th spot in the IPL 2020 points table.
