IPL 2020: Deepak Hooda’s fighting 62* takes KXIP to 153/6; Cricket fraternity applauds his effort

MS Dhoni won the toss and put KXIP into bat first. He also broke the internet by quashing rumors of his IPL retirement.

KL Rahul (29) and Mayank Agarwal (26) added 48 runs in the powerplay but were dismissed by Lungi Ngidi in quick succession. But then CSK bowlers routed KXIP middle order as Gayle (12), Pooran (2) and Mandeep (14) fell to the slowness of the pitch.

In the end, it was a fighting knock from Deepak Hooda, who made 62* in 30 balls with 4 sixes and 3 fours, which took KXIP to a decent total of 153/6 in 20 overs. KXIP scored more than 75 runs in the last 7 overs, giving their bowlers something substantial to defend in this must-win match for them.

For CSK, Ngidi (3/39) was the best bowler of the lot, while Thakur, Jadeja, and Tahir picked one wicket apiece.

The cricket fraternity was all applause for Deepak Hooda’s amazing half-century and showered him with praises on Twitter.
