Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was overjoyed after taking his team to their fifth victory in IPL 2020 by six wickets over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Although fans thought he would unleash his sword celebration, he celebrated the thrilling victory by pointing at the back of his jersey.
Jadeja wanted to show his name, but funnily he ended up pointing at the 'India Cements', the team owner's name behind his jersey. In the Indian jersey, the name of the player is usually at the top, but it's the opposite in the IPL jersey. The name of the player was at the bottom of the jersey, below the jersey number, and Jadeja didn't realize it.
The all-rounder scored 31* off 11 deliveries and smashed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bowler Kamlesh Nagarkoti for two consecutive sixes when CSK needed 7 runs off two deliveries.
"I was hitting the ball well in the nets and kept thinking about that and I managed to do that in the match," said Jadeja.
"We (he and Sam Curran) were talking about going after the bowlers, and in the last 12 balls, you don't think much. Just see the ball and hit the ball. I was looking to not lose my shape, and I knew if they bowled in my arc, I could hit a six," he added after winning the match.
Twitter was flooded with reactions to Jadeja's celebration. Here are a few tweets:
