Indian speedster Varun Aaron has found it really tough to break into the Rajasthan Royals (RR) XI in the ongoing 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 as the skipper Steve Smith has played the pacer in only one game so far in the United Arab Emirates.

The 31-year-old Jharkhand pacer, who once bowled at 152.5 kmph at the international level, has bowled just 12 deliveries for the RR in the ongoing IPL 2020 owing to the stiff competition in the team from fellow Indian pacers like Kartik Tyagi, Jaydev Unadkat, and Ankit Rajpoot.

However, Aaron was all praise for his teammates, saying Tyagi, Unadkat, and Rajpoot have done a fine job in supporting English speedster Jofra Archer in the IPL 2020 so far.

Aaron said in a RR press release: “I think we’ve bowled well overall; this is T20 cricket and there are these patches wherein bowlers go for runs. I feel that our pacers have done well, certain things didn’t go our way where we were unlucky but I feel JD, Tyagi, and Rajpoot have done well in supporting Archer.”

As RR is set to face Kings XI Punjab in Abu Dhabi in a do-or-die IPL 13 encounter on Friday, October 30 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Varun was confident that the Royals would achieve the desired result to make it to the playoffs.

He further added, “The next two games are must-win for us to be able to secure the playoffs berth and I am sure our team will put up the best show to be able to achieve that spot.”

Meanwhile, KXIP has won five back-to-back games and is the in-form team of the IPL 2020 currently while RR has only 2 games to make it to playoffs and Royals’ batting consultant Anmol Mazumdar was hopeful for an exciting finish to the season.

He signed off by saying, “We are where we are in the table and we can't change that now. We have to win our last two matches it's as simple as that. It is an extremely tight and exciting end to the season and we hope to be one of the teams making it through to the playoffs.”
