Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 6 wickets at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Thursday (October 29) and registered their fifth win of IPL 2020 while Knight Riders lost their seventh match. 

Earlier, Chennai Super Kings won the toss and opted to bowl first. Shubman Gill gave a flying start and added 53 runs with Nitish Rana for the opening wicket. Karn Sharma broke the stand by removing Gill for 26 runs. Rana continued to score runs and brought up his 50 and then he changed his gears and played some big shots. His 87 runs knock off 61 balls helped Knight Riders to post 172/5 on the board. 

In reply, Chennai Super Kings also started very well as inform Ruturaj Gaikwad continued his good form and along with Shane Watson added 50 runs. Varun Chakaravarthy dismissed Watson and broke this stand. Ruturaj and Ambati Rayudu took the score to over 100 runs and their 68 runs partnership set the match in Chennai's favour.

Pat Cummins broke this stand by dismissing Rayudu and then in the next over MS Dhoni got out off Chakaravarthy's bowling. In the last 3 overs, Chennai needed 34 runs to win but Cummins gave away only 4 runs and took the wicket of set Ruturaj Gaikwad who scored 72. In the second last over, Lockie Ferguson bowled a no-ball and some full tosses to Ravindra Jadeja and thus he conceded a total of 20 runs. In the last over Super Kings needed only 10 runs which Jadeja scored by hitting two sixes off the last two balls.
