Mumbai Indians beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 5 wickets at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi and registered their eighth win of this IPL season while Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered their fifth loss.
Earlier Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to bowl first. The new opening pair of Josh Philippe and Devdutt Padikkal gave a good start and these two added 71 runs in 7 overs for the first wicket. Rahul Chahar broke this stand by dismissing Philippe for 33 runs. Devdutt brought up his fifty but captain Kohli struggled and got out off Bumrah bowling for 9 runs.
AB de Villiers hit a six and four and at 129/2 in 15 overs they're in a good position but Kieron Pollard sent de Villiers back to the dressing room and then Bumrah dismissed Dube and Padikkal in the same over and Bangalore were in trouble and in the last five overs they could manage only 35 runs and finished on 164/6 in 20 overs.
In reply, Mumbai Indians started well as openers gave a decent start of 37 runs. Mohammad Siraj broke this stand by removing de Kock and after some overs, Chahal dismissed Ishan Kishan and Saurabh Tiwari too didn't last long and at 72/3 in 11 overs the match was balanced. Suryakumar Yadav counter attacked and he kept smashing all Bangalore bowlers and brought up his fifty and he got good support from Hardik Pandya and eventually, Yadav's 79* runs knock took his team home in the last over.
