Maxwell has made 102 runs in 12 matches for KXIP without hitting a single six | BCCI/IPLThough the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) have found a new lease of life in the ongoing IPL 2020, as they have now won five matches in a row and are placed fourth on the points table with 12 points table, they do have a problem in the form of Glenn Maxwell.

The Australian all-rounder was bought by the franchise for a whopping 10.75 cr INR in the auction but has failed to justify the price tag thus far. The KXIP has persisted with Maxwell in all the matches they have played and he has responded with 102 runs with the highest score of 32 at an average of 14.57 and strike rate of 102.00. While Maxwell is known for his big-hitting prowess, he is yet to hit a six in the tournament.

All this has led to KXIP fans asking the management to replace him, but they have not heard their pleas so far. Fans still have the trust and faith in Maxwell, so much that a fan asked him on Instagram if a big knock from the Australian was around the corner.

This sentiment was echoed by KXIP’s batting coach Wasim Jaffer as he shared the screenshot of this convo between the fan and Maxwell on Twitter and quoted it saying, “Spot on @Gmaxi_32 #nobrainer

KXIP will next play Rajasthan Royals in Abu Dhabi on October 30th in the 50th match of the ongoing tournament.
