Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha was the star for his team in their most recent IPL 2020 match against Delhi Capitals, as his amazing knock helped his team gain two important points.
SRH put on a massive 219 runs on the board after being asked to bat first by DC captain Shreyas Iyer. While SRH captain David Warner slammed 66 on his birthday, the star proved to be Saha, who made 87 runs with 12 fours and 2 sixes and added 107 runs with Warner in under 10 overs for the first wicket.
DC could only manage 131 runs with Rashid Khan picking 3/7 in 4 overs and lost the match by 88 runs.
IPL 2020: Captain David Warner backed me to play freely, says SRH's Wriddhiman Saha
Saha was named Player of the Match and received much deserved praise and one of the persons praising him current Indian team head coach Ravi Shastri. He took to Twitter and posted, "To the best Glove Man in the world. Outstanding performance tonight.”
This was only the second time Saha got to play a game for SRH this season. He had scored 30 runs and took a catch behind the stumps in a losing cause against Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 8 last month.
The win not only helped SRH stay alive in the race for the playoffs but also helped SRH settle in on their opening combination, at least for the next few games with Saha possibly replacing the inconsistent Bairstow.
