The Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 12 runs in what was an amazing defense of a small total of 126 runs. SRH batting collapsed spectacularly after being 100/3 at one point and cruising along in the chase.

However, the win was more important for KXIP’s Mandeep Singh as the batsman played the game despite suffering a huge personal loss. Mandeep’s father Hardev Singh passed away a day prior to the match due to health-related issues in a hospital in Chandigarh.

The KXIP players wore a black armband as a tribute to his father, as the right-hander made 17 runs in 14 balls with a four and when KXIP pulled off a stunning win, the players got together and celebrated by pointing their fingers towards the sky with Mandeep in the center.

He took to Twitter to share some photos and captioned the post, “This one's for you Papa ???????? #SaddaPunjab”

Mandeep Singh’s resolve was lauded by Sachin Tendulkar and KXIP owner Preity Zinta as well. Apart from these two, many other cricketers replied to Mandeep’s post and paid tributes to his father.
