Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) players will sport green jerseys when they take to the field against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday (October 25).
The match will be held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Apart from the RCB players, all the support staff will also don the green jersey.
This is not the first time Virat Kohli and company are wearing the green jersey. They had started the tradition in 2011 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium as part of their 'Go Green' initiative, aiming to promote awareness about keeping the earth clean and green.
RCB batsman AB de Villiers made the announcement on Saturday (October 24) with a video message on the team’s social media pages.
"Turn off the lights and taps when not in use. We must ensure waste management and reduce the use of plastic. We should pick up plastic bottles wherever we go. All of these small little things if a person plays along can really go a long way to help our environment," De Villiers said.
RCB are holding the third spot in the IPL 2020 points table, with 7 wins from 10 matches. As of October 24, RCB, Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals are tied on points but the Bengaluru-based franchise is placed third due to lesser Net Run Rate.
