Kings XI Punjab's (KXIP) batsman Nicholas Pooran scored a match-winning 53 off 28 deliveries against Delhi Capitals (DC). Pooran was under pressure to deliver after running his in-form teammate Mayank Agarwal out on just 5 runs.
The West Indian talent was lauded by former India cricketers, Yuvraj Singh and Sachin Tendulkar on Twitter. Both were impressed with the game-changer Pooran. Sachin also tweeted about the technicalities of his batting.
After getting comfortable in the 165-run chase, Pooran ensured he leaves no opportunity for the opposition to come back. Smashing three sixes and six fours, he brought the required run-rate inside six in just the 11th over of their innings.
"And @kxip is looking dangerous and making a statement! @nicholas_47 the game changer! Beautiful to watch! What a player !!! #DCvKXIP #IPL2020", wrote Yuvraj.
Sachin got reminded of JP Duminy after watching Pooran bat. "Some power-packed shots played by @nicholas_47. What a clean striker of the ball he has been. His stance and backlift remind me of @jpduminy21", wrote the India cricket great.
When Pooran got dismissed in the 13th over by Kagiso Rabada, the game was already done for Delhi. KXIP needed just 40 runs in 45 deliveries and ended up winning with five wickets in hand and an over left.
