Delhi Capitals' (DC) wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant had a tough day on the field against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on his return to the team after a break due to injury. After getting out early on a score of 14 off 20 deliveries, he missed a crucial run-out of KXIP batsman Nicholas Pooran, who then proceeded to take his team to the win.
Pooran played a match-winning knock with 53 runs off 28 deliveries as KXIP won their third consecutive match and kept themselves alive in the tournament.
After the match, Pant wasn't spared by the Twitterati who made memes on him. Some pointed out his failure with the bat, while there were few who took a jibe at his wicket-keeping and chirping behind the stumps too.
The 23-year-old has played 7 matches and scored just 190 runs, which isn't good as per his standards in IPL. He is also striking at a low strike-rate of 125 this season with no half-centuries.
