Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner and Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan interacted with his players during the launch of their fan anthem on Facebook Live.
Shah Rukh loves to be witty and whether he is tweeting or speaking, his sense of humor never fails to amuse fans. This time while speaking to KKR batsman Rahul Tripathi, he jokingly told him to score runs.
The KKR opener Tripathi recalled Brendon McCullum's 158* knock in the inaugural match of IPL 2008, and said, “I am very happy and it’s been really wonderful and just one and a half months and all great memories for me. From my childhood, it was my dream to play for KKR."
The way Brendon McCullum scored his 158 runs and you (Shah Rukh Khan) waving from the stands so it was something very special," he added.
McCullum had hit 10 fours and 13 sixes in his innings against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2008.
Responding to Tripathi, Shah Rukh replied, “You still have to score 158 runs, Rahul, I am still waving like that, you are not scoring like that yet."
KKR is currently in the race for the playoffs with five wins in nine matches. They are at number four in the points table and would need three more wickets in the upcoming five matches to seal a spot in the playoffs.
