Kings XI Punjab beat Delhi Capitals by 5 wickets at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai and registered their third consecutive win and overall fourth win of the tournament while Delhi Capitals suffered their third loss.
Earlier Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to bat first. Prithvi Shaw's poor form continued and got out for just 7 runs. Shikhar Dhawan continued from where he left and kept smashing all Punjab bowlers and brought up his fifty. At the other end, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant couldn't score quick runs and both got out cheaply.
Dhawan kept Delhi in the match and scored runs all over the ground and brought up his second consecutive hundred of the tournament and his 106* runs knock helped Delhi to post a fighting total of 164/5 on the board.
In reply Kings XI Punjab also had a poor start as inform KL Rahul got out off Axar Patel bowling for just 15 runs. Chris Gayle counter-attacked and smashed Tushar Deshpande for 26 runs in an over but his 29 runs off 13 balls innings didn't last long as Ashwin bowled him and in the same over Mayank Agarwal got run out for 5 runs and at 56/3 Punjab was on backfoot.
Nicholas Pooran counter-attacked in the middle order and his 27 balls fifty changed the whole game. Rabada dismissed him for 53 runs but he had done his job. In the end, Maxwell's 32 and small knocks from Deepak Hooda and Jimmy Neesham took Punjab home in the 19th over.
