IPL 2020: Cricket fraternity reacts as Jos Buttler’s 70* powers RR to 7-wicket win over CSK

RR chased down CSK's total of 125/5 with 15 balls to spare.

Buttler and Smith shared a 98-run stand for the fourth wicket | IPL/BCCIChennai Super Kings (CSK) faced Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 37th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday (October 19).

Asked to bowl first, RR restricted CSK to a paltry 125/5 in 20 overs. Jofra Archer (1-20), Shreyas Gopa (1-14) and Rahul Tewatia (1-18) were the stars with the ball for Royals.

It was a listless batting performance from CSK as Ravindra Jadeja was the top-scorer with 35 not out off 30 balls.

In reply, RR lost their top three for just 28 runs but the experienced duo of Jos Buttler and Steve Smith shared an unbroken 98-run stand to see the team over the line with 7 wickets in hand and 15 balls to spare.

While Buttler remained unbeaten on 48-ball 70, skipper Smith finished with 34-ball 26*.

Cricket experts were mighty impressed with Rajasthan Royals’ clinical showing in all departments against the star-studded CSK side.
