Delhi Capitals (DC) on Monday (October 19) announced Karnataka leg-spinner Pravin Dubey as a replacement for injured Amit Mishra for the rest of IPL 2020.
Dubey was already in UAE as he had travelled with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) squad in the capacity of a net bowler.
Dubey, who made his First-Class debut for Karnataka earlier this year, came into the limelight in 2016 when he was picked at the IPL auction by RCB for INR 35 lakh. He caught the attention of RCB’s talent scouts with his stellar showing in the 2015 edition of Karnataka Premier League (KPL).
After spending two seasons with the Bangalore-based franchise, he was released and hadn’t managed to attract any team since.
Pravin Dubey has featured in 14 T20s so far, claiming 16 wickets at an average of 19.12 and an economy of 6.87.
Meanwhile, Amit Mishra got ruled out of the ongoing IPL due to a finger injury that he picked up during Delhi Capitals’ fixture against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on October 3.
Mishra, who claimed three wickets in as many games for DC in IPL 13, sustained a flexor tendon injury to the ring finger while trying to take a return catch of Nitish Rana.
