Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in a thrilling Super Over at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi and registered their fifth win of the season while Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered their sixth loss.

Earlier Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and opted to field first. Rahul Tripathi and Shubman Gill gave a decent start of 48 runs in 6 overs. Natrajan dismissed Tripathi and broke this stand, Gill struggled to score quick runs but Rana counter-attacked but once again both the batsmen failed to convert their starts and got out in back to backovers.

Andre Russell's poor form continued and he could manage only 9 runs and at 105/4 in 15 overs Knight Riders were in a bit of trouble but in the last five overs, Dinesh Karthik's 29* and Morgan's 34 helped their team to post 163/5 on the board.

In reply Jonny Bairstow and his new opening partner, Kane Williamson gave a flying start of 58 runs in 6 overs. Lockie Ferguson who was playing his first match first dismissed Kane Williamson for 29 and then Priyam Garg for 4 runs and brought back his team into the game. Jonny Bairstow too got out of Varun Chakravarthy's bowling for 36 runs and then Manish Pandey's poor run also continued and at 82/4 in 12th over Hyderabad was at bay.

Captain David Warner along with Abdul Samad kept his team alive and in the last over they needed 18 runs to win off Russell bowling and Warner managed 17 runs and thus match ended in a tie. In the Super Over Lockie Ferguson dismissed Warner for a duck and Abdu Samad for 2 runs and Hyderabad could manage only 2 runs and later Knight Riders chased it down with ease.
