IPL 2020: Cricket fraternity applauds as Rayudu-Jadeja’s blistering finish takes CSK to 179/4

Faf du Plessis made a brilliant half-century, his 4th in the tournament | BCCI/IPLChennai Super Kings (CSK) won the toss and chose to bat in the 34th match of the IPL 2020 in Sharjah, against Delhi Capitals (DC). CSK made one change to their team, bringing in Kedar Jadhav for Piyush Chawla. DC went in unchanged.

Tushar Deshpande got rid of Sam Curran for a duck, but Watson (36) and Du Plessis (58) added 87 runs for the second wicket. MS Dhoni made just 3 runs, while CSK was looking for a good finish to their total.

They got in the form of Ambati Rayudu (45* in 24 balls; 4 sixes, 1 four) and Ravindra Jadeja (33* in 13 balls; 4 sixes), who added fifty unbeaten runs in the last 3 and a half overs.

Anrich Nortje went for 44 runs in his 4 overs for 2 wickets, while Ashwin gave 30 runs in 3 overs. Rabada and Deshpande picked a wicket each.

The cricket fraternity was all praises for the Rayudu-Jadeja combo on Twitter, which took CSK’s score from a decent one to a fighting one as they ended on 179/4 in 20 overs.
