"The mail was sent by Hemang Amin, the Chief Operating Officer of the IPL, who incidentally happens to be the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the BCCI," the report said.
No player's name was mentioned in the mail, but it is understood that the board has taken this step after Delhi Capitals (DC) weren't quick enough in updating over the status of pacer Ishant Sharma's injury.
Ishant is an integral part of India's Test squad, which is due to tour Australia, among the game's toughest assignments, later this winter. But now, the experienced speedster is a doubtful starter after being ruled out of IPL 2020 with a rib cage injury.
After missing the initial matches due to back stress, Ishant played his only game of the season on September 29 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) before being sat out of the XI again. He was informed to have hurt his rib on October 12.
It is learnt that not until did the Delhi franchise sent a media release on the matter was the Indian team management aware of Ishant's injury.
Hence, they have communicated with the franchises indirectly through the BCCI, not wanting any repeat of the instance.
