Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) finally won another match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, and their second win of the tournament came against the same opposition, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). KXIP batting coach Wasim Jaffer's reaction on Twitter after the win was hilarious.
It wasn't an easy win for the KL Rahul-led side, as the scorecard would suggest. Although KXIP won the match by 8 wickets, they still had to wait until the last ball to win the match. We have seen them messing up easy matches in the past and they were very close to giving up another game.
In the last over, when KXIP needed two runs off six deliveries, they could only manage one run in the first five balls. They also lost Chris Gayle as he and KL Rahul tried to steal a run. At last, Nicholas Pooran had to clear the boundary over long-on to win the match.
The whole KXIP dugout was tensed after KL Rahul and Gayle dragged the match till the last ball. After the match, Wasim Jaffer posted a picture of India head coach Ravi Shastri to express his emotions.
The picture Wasim posted is famous for Shastri's words, "Thodi der ke liye goti muh me aa gaya tha”. He had said it after India's close win over Australia in Adelaide during the famous 2018-19 Border-Gavaskar Trophy which was won by India.
Journalist Rajdeep Sardesai had then posted the viral video clip of the India head coach.
Rahul won Man of the Match for his innings of unbeaten 61 runs off 49 deliveries. He is also the Orange Cap holder currently this season.
