Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), after five consecutive defeats, won their second match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 by beating Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Sharjah. The win came after KL Rahul (61*) and Chris Gayle's (53) put on a match-winning partnership.

Although KXIP won the match by 8 wickets, they again made the situation tense for themselves in the last over. With just two needed off the last six deliveries, they took the game to the last ball. Gayle's wicket fell on the second last delivery and a new batsman Nicholas Pooran had to score one run off the last delivery against leggie Yuzvendra Chahal.

From team owner Preity Zinta to head coach Anil Kumble, everyone was worried about the last delivery, as KXIP had bottled easy chases earlier this tournament against Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders.

But after Pooran smashed a six off the last delivery, the whole dugout jumped in joy, except Jimmy Neesham. He looked unfazed despite the nail-biting situation and neither he celebrated the win over the top.

When asked about his plain reaction after the match, Neesham said he has gone through a lot to not feel anything at all now. The Kiwi was hinting at the super-over loss of New Zealand in the World Cup 2019 final against England and several other super-over defeats in the last 12 months.

"When you’ve been through what I’ve been through you just get a bit numb," he wrote.
