Former Indian cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra was highly impressed with Suryakumar Yadav’s fairytale run in the ongoing 13th edition of the IPL 2020 in the UAE and even he made a bold prediction about his future after his yet another brilliantly performance for Mumbai Indians.

The 27th match of the ongoing IPL 2020 was a face-off between the two top in-form teams MI and Delhi Capitals (DC) in Abu Dhabi – where Suryakumar has yet again proved why he has now become a vital cog of the defending champions’ line-up, scoring 53 along with Quinton De Kock (53) to take Mumbai to the top of the table by thrashing DC by 5 wickets on Sunday (October 11).

The 29-year-old has so far played 7 games for MI in the ongoing IPL 2020 in which he has scored 233 runs with the highest score of unbeaten 79 at a strike rate of over 150.

Following his brilliant batting against DC, Chopra has heaped praise on Suryakumar saying he was the “game-changer” for MI against DC while throwing his weight behind the right-hander to play for India at the end of this year given his IPL 13 performance for Mumbai.

Chopra said on his YouTube channel: “I feel Suryakumar Yadav was the gamechanger in the match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. The manner in which he is batting, whether you see his shots over the covers or his flicks or his cut shots.”

He further added, “The icing on the cake with a cherry on top was the flick he played of Rabada's bowling for a six. My jaw dropped after watching that six. I said that this player should play for India.”

Chopra signed off by saying, “I am saying that before the end of 2020, he will be a part of the Indian team and I feel he will also play matches for the Indian team. This is a voice that is coming from my heart for this player and hopefully, that happens.”
