After his team's handsome victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Sharjah this Monday (October 12), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) off-spinner Washington Sundar said keeping things simple and regularly hitting the hard lengths have been integral to his success so far in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.
Sundar continued his fantastic form, taking 2/20 in four overs to help his team restrict KKR to just 112/9 in response to their 192/2 in the first half.

The 21-year-old has been the tournament's most economical bowler among those with at least 5 games, going at an astonishing 4.91 runs per over in seven innings with 5 wickets.
"I have been wanting to keep the things simple and hit the hard lengths, again and again, that has been working for me this particular season, I did not want to try too many things just because we were playing in Sharjah, this win was very good," said Sundar during the post-match press conference, as quoted by ANI.
"I think when a player plays a lot of games, he gets confidence and he gets used to the conditions. I think a player will feel comfortable when he plays a lot of games and it will bring the best out of him."
"Coming into this particular season, we knew we will have a lot of purchase going for the spinners at least in the middle phase of the tournament and I am really glad to bowl in tandem with (veteran leg-spinner Yuzvendra) Chahal."
"I think the fact that we played six bowlers against KKR was very good, we won by 82 runs against a team like KKR and it orders well for the team, still a lot of more games to go, hopefully, we will give good performances," he added.
The RCB attack piled on the pressure of the asking rate on KKR batsmen in which they crumbled. Sundar especially talked about the South African quick Chris Morris (2/17), whose inclusion has added another dimension to the team's bowling line-up since his recovery from an injury.
"I think this is what the management would have thought of in terms of team composure. Hopefully, Morris does really well, last two games he played for us and we won the matches, hopefully, he could do a lot more for RCB," he said.
In the first half, when the team looked like settling for a total around 150-160, RCB's middle-order great AB de Villiers played a memorable knock of 73 not out in just 33 deliveries to take them to a score significantly above par for the slowing surface.
"We felt the wicket will slow down as the game progressed. The way AB batted, it made all the difference. We did feel that 160 would be a very good score, but the way he batted, the ground would not have made a difference," said Sundar.
Now third in the points table with five wins in seven outings, RCB next face Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on Thursday (October 15).
