IPL 2020: AB de Villiers stops Sharjah traffic as his gigantic six hits a moving car

De Villiers smashed 73 not out off 33 balls in RCB's 82-run win over KKR.

AB de Villiers | IANSAB de Villiers put on a show with the bat as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) thrashed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 82 runs in Sharjah on Monday (October 12).

During the course of his innings, the South African batting genius also brought the traffic to halt.

In the 16th over of RCB’s innings, De Villiers smoked Kamlesh Nagarkoti for a couple of sixes, one of which landed on the busy Sharjah road and hit a moving car which then deflected and hit another car.

Coming to the match, RCB restricted KKR to 112/9 in 20 overs. It was a listless batting performance from the Knight Riders as none of the batters managed to touch the 40-run mark. Shubman Gill was the top-scorer with 25-ball 34.

For RCB, spinners and pacers bowled exceedingly well. While Yuzvendra Chahal (1-12), Washington Sundar (2-20) were economical with the ball and claimed three wickets between them, Chris Morris (2-17), Navdeep Saini (1-17), Mohammed Siraj (1-24) and Isuru Udana (1-19) picked up five wickets among them.

With 10 points from 7 games, RCB are occupying the third spot in the eight-team IPL 2020 points table. They will take on Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in their next clash on Thursday (October 15).
