Royal Challengers Bangalore decimated Kolkata Knight Riders by 82 runs at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah yesterday night and registered their fifth win of the season while Kolkata Knight Riders lost their third match.
Earlier Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and opted to bat first. Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal gave a good 67 runs start and in the 8th over Russell dismissed Padikkal for 32 runs. Finch and Kohli took the score to over 90 runs in 12 overs. Aaron Finch missed his fifty by 3 runs and got out for 47 off Prasidh bowling.
AB de Villiers joined Kohli at the crease and he just started smashing all Knight Riders bowlers and resultant in the last 8 overs Bangalore scored 100 runs and finished on 194/2 on a tough pitch. AB de Villiers played a great knock of 73* runs off 33 balls while Kohli scored 33* runs off 28 balls.
In reply, Kolkata Knight Riders opened with Shubman Gill and debutant Tom Banton but Bangalore bowlers didn't allow them to settle down and it created a lot of pressure on them and resultant Banton got out for just 8 runs off Saini bowling. In the powerplay, Knight Riders scored 40 odd runs and all Bangalore bowlers kept bowling well and it put Knight Riders batsmen on the back foot, and in the quest of quick runs, they kept losing wickets after wickets and eventually finished on 112/9 in 20 overs and suffered a big 82 runs loss. For Bangalore, Chris Morris and Washington Sundar took 2 wickets each.
