Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has condemned the recent threats at MS Dhoni and his family members by internet trolls. Dhoni's team Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) failure to win matches in the ongoing IPL 2020 tournament has led to frustration in its fans.
Some of the internet users had even posted rape threats to Dhoni's five-year-old daughter Ziva on Instagram. Afridi feels it's wrong to cross the line and the players don't deserve such treatment.

He also added Dhoni and his family should be respected by the fans considering what the ex-India captain has done for the Indian cricket team.
“I don’t know what sort of threats were directed at MS Dhoni & his family but it’s not right & shouldn’t happen. Dhoni’s the person who has taken Indian cricket to new heights. He’s taken junior & senior players along this journey & doesn’t deserve such treatment,” Shahid Afridi said according to Pakistani journalist Saj Sadiq on Twitter.
Jharkhand government had beefed up security at Dhoni's farmhouse in Ranchi after the threats to the family. Police in Gujarat has also arrested a 16-year-old boy in the matter. The authorities picked the boy from Mundra’s Namna Kapaya village in the Kutch region.
The minor, a student of 12th standard, has confessed to his crime, as per Kutch police. According to reports, he will be handed over to the Ranchi police for further procedures.
