RR overhauled the target with five wickets in hand and a ball to spare.

Tewatia, Parag stitched an 85-run stand to help RR chase down SRH's 158/4 | TwitterAfter his team’s five-wicket defeat against Rajasthan Royals (RR), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper David Warner acknowledged Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag’s brilliance with the bat.

Chasing 159 to win, RR were reeling at 78/5 after 12 overs. However, Tewatia (45* off 28 balls) and Parag (42* off 26 balls) didn't lose hope and stitched a fantastic 85-run stand to take their team over the line with one ball to spare.

"Unfortunately, we couldn't cross the line there, but that's what happens in cricket. We got two guys that are set and taking it deep, it's always hard to control. It's good to see good battle out there, credit to the way he (Tewatia) played. He came out and played his shots and played very bravely and got his team across the line," Warner said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

"We have done it in the past where we have held him (Rashid Khan) back and obviously these two guys (Parag and Tewatia) played exceptionally well and obviously there was a dropped chance out there which we try to take every day of the week but that's what happens in the game of cricket," he added.

Earlier, SRH posted 158/4 in 20 overs on the back of Manish Pandey’s 44-ball 54 and Warner’s 38-ball 48.

With the ball, Rashid Khan once again impressed one and all, claiming 2 wickets by conceding 25 runs in his four overs. Khaleel Ahmed (2/37) also chipped in with a couple of scalps.

Despite the loss, Warner said he is taking a lot of positives from the game.

"I think that (pitches slowing down) sort of suits our bowling attack, tonight some of our decisions at the top of the mark just weren't there and we probably bowled the wrong ball at times. There is a lot of positives from this game for us and we will take that on into the next game," he concluded.

SRH will take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their next match on Tuesday (October 13).
