Defending champions Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by 5 wickets at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi and registered their fifth win of the season while Delhi Capitals lost their second match of this tournament.
Earlier Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to bat first but Prithvi Shaw got out in the first over off Boult bowling. Ajinkya Rahane who came in place of the injured Rishabh Pant played some good shots but couldn't convert his start into a big one.
Dhawan and Iyer rebuilt the innings and took the score to over 100 runs in 14 overs and when they're looking dangerous Krunal Pandya broke this stand by removing Iyer for 42. R Ashwin dismissed de Kock for 53 runs and Mumbai reduced to 77/2 in the 10th over. Suryakumar Yadav took the charge in his hands and continued to hit and also brought up his second consecutive fifty and his 53 runs knock made the chase easy and eventually in the last over Krunal Pandya and Kieron Pollard took their team home.
