IPL 2020: Gujarat Police arrests 16-year-old boy from Kutch for threatening MS Dhoni's daughter Ziva

Ziva had received vile threats of assault and rape online after CSK lost to KKR in IPL 2020.

Ziva had received vile threats of assault and rape online after CSK lost to RCB in IPL 2020A new revelation was made in the case of Ziva, former India cricketer MS Dhoni’s daughter, receiving rape threats and abuses online after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) suffered a loss to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the ongoing IPL 2020 match on October 7.

CSK, which was defeated by 10 runs by KKR, and its players received vile abuses, and threats were made to rape and assault MS Dhoni’s 5-year-old daughter Ziva. Screenshots of abuses were shared on social media by multiple users and even former cricketers condemned this shameful behavior from irate fans.

Now as per reports from Hindustan Times' Bangla edition, police authorities have arrested a 16-year-old boy from Mundra's Namna Kapaya village in the Kutch region of Gujarat. The 12th standard student confessed to having issued rape threats, as per Kutch police. He will be handed over to Ranchi police, according to reports.

Though Shane Watson made 50 and Amabati Rayudu made 30, KKR captain Dinesh Karthik's ploy of using spinners in the last 10 overs of the chase enabled him to strangle CSK batting in their chase of the 168-run target.  CSK only managed 157/5 in 20 overs and abused flowed on social media for them.

“Sad we’ve to defend MS Dhoni in India,” Pragyan Ojha condemns abuses on cricketers on social media

CSK is now placed at the 7th position on the points table with 4 points from 7 matches. It also led to numerous memes and trolls directed at CSK for their aging players and slow batting.

Skipper MS Dhoni has been the target of many trolls online given CSK’s poor performances in the tournament, but some took the issue too far when they started hurling abuses and threats at the players' families after CSK's second successive defeat.

Former cricketers in Pragyan Ojha and Irfan condemned such acts from cricket fans.
