Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Chennai Super Kings by 37 runs at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai yesterday night and registered their fourth win of the season while Chennai Super Kings suffered their fifth loss.
Earlier Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and opted to bat first. Aaron Finch's poor form continued as he was bowled out for just 2 runs by Deepak Chahar. Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli took the score to over 60 runs but they couldn't score quick runs and resultant Padikkal and AB de Villiers got out in the same over of Shardul Thakur and at 67/3 in 11 overs Bangalore was in big trouble.
Virat Kohli was rock solid at his end and brought up his fifty. In the last four overs, he changed the gears and smashed all bowlers and Bangalore scored 66 runs in these four overs and his 90* runs off 52 balls knock powered his team to 169/4 in 20 overs.
In reply Royal Challengers Bangalore's bowlers started well and didn't allow Chennai openers to score quick runs and resultant both Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson got out cheaply. Ambati Rayudu and N Jagadeeshan rebuilt the innings but they couldn't score quick runs and in the last 7 overs, Chennai needed more than 100 runs.
And because of that pressure, they kept losing wickets after wickets and eventually finished on 132/8 in 20 overs and lost the match. For Royal Challengers Bangalore Chris Morris took 3 wickets while Isuru Uadan and Washington Sundar picked up 2 wickets each.
