Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were at the receiving end of a comical run-out during the 24th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in Abu Dhabi on Saturday (October 10).

As KKR were looking to rebuild their innings after losing Rahul Tripathi (4) cheaply, a complete misunderstanding led to the loss of another wicket.

It was a comedy of errors out there as Shubman Gill clipped the ball towards the fielder at short fine leg and non-striker Nitish Rana rushed for a quick single. Gill wasn't interested one bit for the run and by the time he sent Rana back, it was too late.

Nicholas Pooran dislodged the bails at the bowling end as both the batsmen were found to be at the same end.  

The turn of events saw Rana getting run-out for just 2 as KXIP reduced KKR to 14/2 in 3.3 overs.
