IPL 2020: Lungi Ngidi not happy in CSK? Likes a fan tweet saying he deserves a better team

Ngidi has played two games in IPL 2020 for CSK, picking four wickets.

Lungi Ngidi with CSK captain MS DhoniChennai Super Kings’ (CSK) South African pacer Lungi Ngidi has been with the team since their return to IPL fold in 2018. He played 7 matches that year and picked 11 wickets in the yellow army’s third IPL title win. Unfortunately, a serious injury meant that he missed the 2019 IPL season for CSK.

However, in the ongoing IPL 2020, Ngidi has been on the bench after playing just two games and picking four wickets. He picked 3/38 in CSK’s win over MI in IPL 13 tournament opener but went for 56 runs against Rajasthan Royals in CSK's second match, in which they conceded 216 runs.

Since then CSK has tried out Josh Hazlewood in Ngidi’s place and has settled for Sam Curran along with Dwayne Bravo in the playing XI, leaving the Proteas pacer dwindling in uncertainty.

IPL 2020: Jofra Archer’s old tweets go viral after his 4 consecutive sixes off CSK's Lungi Ngidi

He seemingly is unhappy with the franchise’s decision to bench him which was indicated when he liked a tweet which said that he deserved a better team.

On Friday, Lungi Ngidi took to Twitter and write, “There’s a lot of bad things that they wishing on me.” To which a fan amongst hundreds, commented that “You deserve a better IPL team bro”.

However, the most cryptic thing about Ngidi’s thread and replies was that the bowler liked the comment, a possible indication that he is not at all happy with Chennai Super Kings at the moment.

The tweet also comes at a moment, when the mid-season transfer window is about to open after all teams have played 7 games each. Ngidi qualifies for the transfer having played just two games for CSK in IPL 2020.

CSK has lost 4 games and won only a couple of games in IPL so far in what can be termed as their worst performance in the last few seasons. The three-time champions are on the 6th spot in the IPL 2020 points table and they will now have to win atleast 6 out of the 8 games left in the season to qualify for the playoffs.
