Sunrisers Hyderabad has played 6 matches and won 3 and lost 3. The good thing for them is that they won two of their last three matches and have some momentum going into this match. Their opponents are coming off four consecutive losses and this is a big plus for Warner and his team.
The SRH unit is pretty settled with the top order of Warner, Bairstow, Williamson, and Pandey doing the majority of the scoring, while young guns Garg, Abhishek, and Samad doing the dirty work in the middle order. They have pulled off the job most of the time, but the inclusion of some experience here can come in handy.
In the bowling department, injury to Bhuvneshwar is a big blow to them, but their remaining bowlers have done a pretty good job, especially Rashid Khan and T Natarajan. Rajasthan Royals need to buck up soon, else they might find themselves in a position where they have to win every match going forward. 4 losses in 6 matches is bad enough, RR cannot seem to find a proper batting order for themselves. Jaiswal and Uthappa have failed to live up to expectations, while Samson cannot seem to get any consistency in his game.
The good news for them might is that Ben Stokes will be available for this match and will most likely replace Andrew Tye in the XI. Rahul Tewatia and Shreyas Gopal have done well with the ball, with Tewatia also chipping in with the bat and in the field.
Varun Aaron’s pace was a welcome addition to RR bowling, as he complimented Jofra Archer quite well. He also gave young Kartik Tyagi some space to breathe and get his game going.
RR need to get on the winning horse soon, else the remainder of the pack will go so far ahead, they will find it difficult to catch up with them.
