India is a cricket passionate nation with emotions of a huge number of fans involved. The most followed sports in the country brings the people together irrespective of their faith, caste, or language.
But there is a negative side of this widely followed sports which is vile and can't be ignored. The toxicity among fanbases has reached new heights and those who have spent time and observed various social media platforms would know how things escalate.
However, this toxicity and clash of fanbases crossed a new line, after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lost to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 10 runs and skipper MS Dhoni's daughter Ziva, received rape threats on social media.
Some of the comments are horrendous and beyond one's imagination for a five-year-old.
CSK was close to an easy win, but Dhoni failed to score the remaining runs after coming out at number four. He was clean bowled by KKR spinner Varun Chakraborty and Super Kings needed another 38 runs in 21 deliveries, which they failed to score.
Screenshots of the comment on Dhoni's Instagram account is doing rounds. There is also a screengrab of group chat in which two users are crossing all limits with their comments on Ziva.
