Rashid claimed 3 wickets by conceding only 12 runs in his four overs against KXIP.

Rashid Khan was outstanding with the ball against KXIP | IANSAfter his match-winning outing with the ball against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in Dubai on Thursday (October 8), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) spinner Rashid Khan said he was trying to keep it simple and enjoy his bowling in the middle.

Rashid returned with the figures of 3 for 12 in his four overs as SRH bowled out KXIP for 132 in 16.5 overs to register a crushing 69-run victory. Pacers Khaleel Ahmed (2-24) and T Natarajan (2-24) also claimed four wickets between them.

"I was just trying my best to keep it simple for myself. I'm not putting too much pressure on myself. Go there and enjoy my bowling that is what I have been doing so far," Rashid said during the post-match press conference.

The Afghanistan leggie also bowled a maiden over and got the prized scalp of Nicholas Pooran, who was threatening to take the game away with a blazing knock of 37-ball 77.

"On these wickets you have to adjust yourself with the line and length, which is the key. As soon as I came and bowled the first three balls, I realised what is the right length on this wicket and how should I bowl. At the same time, you have to bowl according to the weakness of the batsman, and that is what I have been doing and got the success," he added.

Earlier, Sunrisers piled up 201/6 in 20 overs on the back of Jonny Bairstow’s 55-ball 97 and David Warner’s 40-ball 52. The duo stitched 160 runs for the opening wicket in 15 overs.

"All is great when you have such kind of start. Jonny Bairstow and David Warner both are capable of giving those starts and they have done it in the past as well in India," said Rashid.

"So far, they have done a great job for us as openers and as a bowler, you always feel great when you have such a big total on the board. On these wickets (Dubai), it is quite tough to chase down 200 and the average is like 165-170. Quite happy the way they have performed so far," he concluded.

With three wins from six games, Sunrisers Hyderabad are currently in the third spot on the points table. They will take on Rajasthan Royals in their next match on Sunday (October 11) in Dubai.
