IPL 2020: Cricket fraternity reacts as Bairstow slams 55-ball 97 to take SRH to 201/6 against KXIP

Jonny Bairstow and David Warner added 160 runs for the opening wicket.

Jonny Bairstow | IANSSunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are facing Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the 22nd match of IPL 2020 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Opting to bat first, SRH openers, Jonny Bairstow and David Warner, wreaked havoc on KXIP bowlers as they shared a 160-run stand in 15 overs.

In particular, Bairstow was severe on the Kings XI bowlers, smashing 97 off just 55 balls. His knock was laced with 7 fours and 6 sixes. Skipper Warner also played the role of a second fiddle perfectly, scoring 52 from 40 deliveries, including 5 fours and a six.

Unfortunately for the Sunrisers, Warner and Bairstow got out in the same over. Both of them were the victims of young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi.

In the last 5 overs, KXIP bowlers managed to pull things back as they conceded 41 runs and claimed 6 wickets but SRH still managed to pile up a massive 201/6 on the board, with Kane Williamson playing a valuable cameo of 10-ball 20.

Cricket experts lauded Jonny Bairstow for his herculean effort with the bat in the first half of the game.
