Rajasthan Royals (RR) batsman Sanju Samson kicked off the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 season with a couple of big knocks, scoring 74 and 85 runs. However, the youngster failed to continue the same form and was dismissed on 8, 4, and 0 in the last three matches.

There has been a lot of discussions going around the youngsters in IPL, on who could fit well in the Indian cricket team. Cricketer-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar had his say on it and he compared the First-Class record of Mayank Agarwal, Shubman Gill, and Samson.

Manjrekar isn't very impressed with Samson's record in First-Class cricket. He wrote, “No matter what the format, I make it a point to look at a player's FC record to get a general idea about the player. Something about Samson that's always bothered me..his FC average is 37. In comparison, Mayank is 57 & Gill in his 21 matches a staggering 73."

Mayank is currently in a terrific touch and his approach is lauded by the cricket pundits. He has got runs behind his back and currently carries the responsibility of Kings XI Punjab's batting line-up, along with skipper KL Rahul.

Talking about Sanju, he was praised by ex-India cricketer Gautam Gambhir after his match-winning knocks in the ongoing IPL. He had called him the right pick for the wicket-keeper batsman role in the Indian cricket team.

But when Rajasthan moved out of Sharjah, Samson has so far failed to be at his best with the bat in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
