Kings XI Punjab-led by KL Rahul has suffered its fourth loss in the ongoing 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 after a 10-wicket defeat to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday (4 October) in the 18th game of the season at Dubai International Stadium.
The KXIP has started off their IPL 13 campaign with a close defeat in their tournament opener against Delhi Capitals but made a brilliant comeback in their next game, thrashing RCB-led by Virat Kohli by 97 runs but couldn’t take this form so long in the ongoing T20 league.
Following the victory, the Punjab team was handed three defeats at the hand of Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians and most recent against CSK on Sunday.
In their last IPL 13 match against the CSK, KXIP bowlers were hapless as Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis played remarkable innings to guide CSK to a 10-wicket over the KXIP on Sunday in Dubai. With the massive loss, the KXIP will now face an uphill battle to make it to the playoffs, as they are now at the bottom of the table with just two points from five matches.

Seeing the struggle of the franchise, former India all-rounder and commentator Irfan Pathan has suggested the XIP to make three changes in their line-up ahead of their next IPL 2020 encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad on October 8 in Dubai.
Taking to Twitter on Sunday, Pathan has advised the franchise to include Arshdeep Singh, Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Deepak Hooda in the playing XI for the batter balance against SRH.
He wrote on Twitter: “For @lionsdenkxip get #Arshdeepsingh #mujeeb #hooda in the playing 11 will make the team so much better #ipl”
Noteworthy, the KXIP will next lock horns against Sunrisers Hyderabad on October 8 in the IPL 2020.
