Delhi Capitals beat Kolkata Knight Riders in a high scoring thriller at Sharjah Cricket Ground in Sharjah yesterday night and registered their third win of the season.

Earlier Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and opted to bowl first. Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw gave a good start of 56 runs in the power play. Dhawan got out off Chakravarthy's bowling for 26 runs. Shaw and captain Iyer continued to play big hits. Shaw brought up his fifty and then got out for 66 runs. Shreyas Iyer also brought up his fifty and continued to deal in sixes and his 88* runs off 38 balls helped Delhi Capitals to post a big score of 228/4 on the board. 

In reply, Kolkata Knight Riders had a poor start as Narine bowled out for just 3 runs. Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana took the score to over 70 runs but under pressure, Shubman Gill threw his wicket for 28 runs. Andre Russell came at number 4 and hit a six and a four but his stay didn't last long as Rabada dismissed him for 13 runs. Meanwhile, Nitish Rana brought up his fifty but he too couldn't convert it into a big knock and got out off Harshal Patel bowling, and in the same over Dinesh Karthik also perished. Eoin Morgan hit a few sixes and kept his team alive.

In the last 4 overs, Knight Riders needed 78 runs, and in the next 2 over Rahul Tripathi and Eoin Morgan scored 47 runs and set the match for a tight finish but in the second last over Anrich Nortje dismissed Eoin Morgan and gave only 5 runs and eventually Kolkata Knight Riders finished on 210/8 and lost by 18 runs. Anrich Nortje took 3 wickets for Delhi.
