IPL 2020: ‘Don't worry & forget about the run-out’, Williamson to Priyam Garg during innings break

Williamson got run out due to a mix-up with Garg against CSK.

Williamson was quite animated after his dismissal | ScreengrabSunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) young batsman Priyam Garg admitted that he felt really bad when Kane Williamson got run out due to a mix-up between them in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 clash against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Dubai on Friday.

During the last delivery of 11th over, Williamson flicked the ball to mid-wicket and called for a quick single but Garg didn’t respond and the former was left stranded mid-pitch. Ambati Rayudu, who was stationed at mid-wicket, gave the ball to MS Dhoni, who took the bails off in a flash to inflict the run-out.

After his dismissal, Williamson was quite animated and the turn of events would have certainly created pressure on Garg.

"I felt really bad. Williamson was set at that point of time. He is a very experienced player but he got run-out. It was a mistake. I was able to score runs, so it was good. When I got back to the dug-out, Kane said 'well played mate, don't worry and forget about the run-out'," Garg told his SRH team-mate Abhishek Sharma in a video posted on iplt20.com.

Later, Priyam Garg scored 51 not out off 26 balls to take SRH to 164/5 in 20 overs. He shared a 77-run stand for the fifth wicket with Abhishek (31 off 24 balls) when Sunrisers were reeling at 61/4.

"I had no pressure when Abhishek came in to bat, because we know each other and our strengths. We both gelled well together and enjoyed each others' batting. I felt really good about scoring my first IPL fifty," he said.

Defending the total, SRH restricted CSK to 157/5 to register their second successive win. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the pick of the bowlers for Sunrisers, taking 1 for 20 in his 3.1 overs. While T Natarajan gave away 43 runs in his four overs, he got the prized scalp of Ambati Rayudu and Jadeja.

Sunrisers will take on defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in their next game on October 4.
