The 14th match of IPL 2020 between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will make MS Dhoni the most capped player in the league’s history, surpassing Suresh Raina, who opted out of this year’s tournament due to personal reasons.
Minutes before the game, Raina took to Twitter and congratulated the CSK skipper for this great achievement.
The southpaw also said he is happy that his record is being broken by none other than Dhoni.
“Congratulations Mahi bhai (@msdhoni) at becoming the most capped IPL player. Happiest that my record is being broken by you,” Raina tweeted.
He wished CSK all the best for today’s game as well and sounded confident that Dhoni and company will win their fourth title this season.
“All the best for the game today and am sure @ChennaiIPL will win this season’s @IPL,” he further wrote.
With 193 games to his name, Dhoni was sharing the top position with Raina for most IPL appearances. Apart from 2016 and 2017 editions, when Dhoni was part of the Rising Pune Supergiant, he has spent rest of the IPL seasons with CSK.
The Super Kings skipper has 4476 runs to his name in the cash-rich event at an average of 42.23 and strike-rate of 137.89, including 23 half-centuries.
