IPL 2020: Sourav Ganguly calls IPL 'the best league in the world' after RR vs KXIP thriller in Sharjah

IPL 2020 is well and truly alive after just a week since the tournament in Abu Dhabi. Match 9 on Sunday, September 27 featured the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kings XI Punjab in a thriller that unfolded in Sharjah.

The 39.3 overs that lasted close to 4 hours had everything to grab a viewer's attention and keep him stuck to the screen. The game that began with a 183-run opening partnership finished with the Royals scoring 86 runs in the last 5 overs to successfully complete the run-chase.

The stars of the show were Mayank Agarwal, for his maiden IPL century, and RR all-rounder Rahul Tewatia, who played one of the most dramatic T20 innings. After almost bogging the chase with his 23-ball 17, he smoked 6 sixes in 7 balls before getting out. The topsy-turvy game meant that fans took social media by storm.

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly tweeted about the game and labeled IPL as 'he best league in the world'. He wrote, "What a game ..that’s why this is the best league in the world ... amazing talent on display @bcci @IPL"

The weekends for the rest of the IPL season will be even more entertaining with 2 games each Saturday and Sunday till November 3.
