Cummins picked 1/19 in his four overs against SRH | IANSKolkata Knight Riders (KKR) registered their first win in the ongoing IPL 2020 after they beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 7 wickets in a low scoring encounter in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

Batting first after winning the toss, SRH managed just 142/4 on the board with Manish Pandey making a fifty. In reply, KKR chased down the target with ease thanks to an unbeaten 70 from Shubman Gill and his 92*-run partnership with Eoin Morgan (42*).

KKR bowling unit was amazing in their execution of plans and Pat Cummins, their 15.50 cr INR buy stood out with figures of 1/19 in four overs. This was an amazing return from Cummins, who had gone for 49 runs against Mumbai the other day.

In a video posted by IPL’s official Twitter account, Pat Cummins, in a conversation with Shubman Gill, praised the entire KKR bowling unit for their sublime performance in the victory over SRH.

"Great feeling in the side after gaining our first win. I had a great training session one day before the match, rhythm felt good and for the past few days, the talks between the coaches and (captain) Dinesh Karthik has been positive. I had a lot of confidence going out there," Cummins told Gill.

"Warner and Bairstow are classy players. Once they get in, it's hard to dismiss him. Fortunately, I got one wicket (of Bairstow). The performance from the entire bowling group was great," he added.

Meanwhile, Gill, the Player of the Match, spoke about his match-winning partnership with England captain Eoin Morgan and praised the senior player for his batting.

"It is a great feeling. In this game, our batting, bowling, and fielding was right on point. Morgan was batting really well, especially against spinners. His reverse-sweeping and sweeping is definitely something I want to learn,” Gill said.

KKR will now play Rajasthan Royals on September 30.
