Rajasthan Royals' wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler is “really excited” to play his first game in the ongoing 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on Sunday (September 27) at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Buttler had missed RR’s IPL-opener against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as the English star was undergoing quarantine with his family in the UAE since he wasn’t part of the England players who came directly from the bio-bubble in the UK.

Well, the right-hander is now eligible to play in the IPL 2020 after completing his mandatory quarantine period in the UAE and he is expecting a really tough match against KXIP on Sunday.

Hailing the KXIP led by KL Rahul as “a fantastic team”, the 30-year-old is expecting a high-scoring game at Sharjah given the exceptional form of the opposition captain.

He was also delighted that the Royals started off their IPL 2020 campaign on a winning note, against the CSK, saying the 16-run victory gave lots of confidence to the team and he is looking forward to take the field for RR in the IPL 13.

Buttler said after a net session in Sharjah: “Great to get a win on the board, the team played fantastically well in the first game. It was an outstanding batting performance and a fantastic bowling performance in tough bowling conditions.”

He added, “I am really excited to play my first game, it was great to be back in training with the boys. The training has been very energetic, guys are lively and enjoying each other's company, there's a great vibe around the team so I'm really looking forward to taking the field. The atmosphere and energy around the squad is fantastic, obviously lots of confidence after that first game.”

Buttler signed off by saying, So yeah good atmosphere around, expecting a really tough match against Kings XI. Obviously, a fantastic team, KL Rahul was in exceptional form the other night against RCB, so he will be a key wicket as always and I think we'll see another potentially high-scoring game at Sharjah with small boundaries and the dew factor coming in. Can't wait to get back out there.”
