India cricket great and commentator, Sunil Gavaskar was dragged into controversy after his words on the air during the Indian Premier League (IPL) clash between Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were misquoted.
Gavaskar had commented on the viral video of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma in which they were playing cricket. He suggested Kohli couldn't play much cricket in lockdown and has faced only Anushka's bowling.
After outrage on social media, Gavaskar had to clarify his comments during the match between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals. Many of the cricket fans had already verified his comments and confirmed there was nothing wrong with the words used by the ex-India cricketer.

Earlier, the actress Anushka Sharma had herself hit back at Gavaskar and sought an explanation from him for his choice of words. But fans stood in support of Gavaskar and Twitter saw the hashtag '#WeSupportGavaskar' trending.
