Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their second match of IPL 2020 at the Dubai International Stadium on Thursday (September 24) after losing their first opening match in the tournament against Delhi Capitals in a super over.

Ahead of the big clash against the RCB, KXIP head coach Anil Kumble sounded upbeat about his team’s chances against Virat Kohli and co. despite their narrow defeat against DC as they are just taking a lot of positives fromt that loss.

He admitted that the RCB has a “very strong batting line-up” but has confidence in his team’s ability, saying the KXIP has their own plans against the franchise. He further noted the KXIP-led by KL Rahul just needs to rectify the mistakes committed against DC when they take on RCB on Thursday evening to outsmart the Bangalore-based franchise.

Kumble said in a video posted on KXIP’s official Twitter handle ahead of KXIP’s IPL 13 clash against RCB: “You know obviously RCB has a very strong batting lineup with Virat, AB and Aaron Finch, very experienced as well. Young Padikkal batted really well for them in the last game, again a debutant, nice to see a youngster do well in the IPL, but we have our plans.”

He further said: “I think we have the ability to put it across so all depends on the day who plays well. Our preparations over the last one month have been really good and we are very positive after the Delhi Capitals game as to what we need to do and what are the corrections we need to make.”

Kumble signed off by saying, “It's on the same ground that we would be playing RCB, its a T20 tournament so you just want to be good on a particular day and look at one game at a time.”
