Ab de Villiers made 51 and completed 200 sixes in IPL.

AB de Villiers made 51 and completed 200 sixes in IPL | TwitterThe third match of the IPL 2020 saw Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Dubai Cricket Stadium, Dubai. SRH captain David Warner won the toss and chose to bowl first.

RCB opened with young Devdutt Padikkal and the experienced Aaron Finch. However, contrary to expectations, Padikkal started smashing the bowlers to all parts of the Dubai ground, while the Australia captain played second fiddle to him.

Padikkal played shots everywhere and looked comfortable against the swinging and bouncing balls. He made 56 in 42 balls with 8 fours. Finch failed to find his hitting gear and was dismissed LBW by Abhishek Sharma for 29 runs.

This brought Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers together, but the association lasted 33 runs as Kohli was caught by Rashid Khan off T Natarajan. But De Villiers continued to give momentum to RCB innings and made 51 in 30 balls with 2 sixes and 4 fours to his name, taking the final RCB total to 163/5 in 20 overs.

Natarajan, Abhishek, and Shankar picked one wicket each for the SRH team.

Devdutt Padikkal received unanimous praise for his amazing debut knock in the IPL and Twitter was filled with cricket fraternity lauding him.
